Active Ingredient: Tiamulin Fumarate 

Pharmacodynamics: Tiamulin is a pleuromutilin antibiotics effective against sensitive bacteria with high concentration. It inhibits bacteria through protein synthesis in binding to bacterial 50s ribosome. Tiamulin is effective against Mycolplasma and Treponema hyodysenteriae. It is also effective against Staphylococcus, Streptococcus (except Group D), and most of the Gram-positive bacteria. It is also effective against Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae but not sensitive to most Gram-negative bacteria. 

Pharmacokinetics: the drug can be mostly absorbed by the body with a bioavailability of 85% and takes 2~4 hours to reach the maximal serum concentration. The drug can be distributed widely with the highest concentration in lungs. Tiamulin can be further digested to more than 20 kinds of metabolite and some of them with antibacterial activity. The metabolite of Tiamulin can be digested from bile through feces and 30% through urine. 

Indications: Pleuromutilin antibiotics. In prevention for porcine psoriasis pleuropneumonia, Mycoplasma pneumonia, and swine dysentery. 

Administration and Dosage: mix with feed, 400~1000g/kg for 5~10 days.

Contraindications: Using the right dosage, the skin will have erythema. Over dosage will cause swine salivation, vomiting, and central nerve suppression.

Precaution: 1. Do not use with monensin, salinomycin, methyl salinomycin, and other polyether antibiotics.     2. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.      3. The drug’s expiration date will not late more than 7 days under 40˚ C.

Withdrawal Time:  swine: 7 days
