Description: white powder

Pharmacodynamics:  Flumequine is the second generation of quinolone and inhibit bacterial growth through DNA helicase making bacterial DNA having problem forming super-helix and damage chromosome. It is mainly effective against Gram-negative bacteria including E. coli, Salmonella, Pasteurella, Proteobacteria, Klebsiella, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Aeromonas, and Vibrio anguillarum. Flumequine is also effective against Mycoplasma. 

Pharmacokinetics: Flumequine’s mechanism is to inhibit bacterial DNA helicase (Topoisomerase II) making DNA unable to form super-helix and damage chromosome to distinguish bacteria.

Indications: n treatment for fish Aeromonas infections such as furunculosis of carps, epidorthosis, red spot disease, finrot, and canker.

Administration and Dosage: mix with feed, fish: 2.5g~5g/kg, once a day for 3~5 days.

Contraindications: . no discomfort has seen with suggested dosage.

Precaution: 

1. The product in aqueous form is easily degraded by sunlight and should preserve with care.

2. Antibacterial activity is higher than oxolinic acid. Bacteria with oxolinic acid resistance should be more effective using flumequine with concentration slightly higher than the MIC concentration.

3. Flumequine has higher bioavailability than oxolinic acid for sea fish.

Withdrawal Time: Fish 175 ˚ C-day.

Storage: protect it from light, store in a tightly sealed container in a dry place.
