Tilmicosin PremixVeterinary drug name Generic Name: Tilmicosin Premix Trade Name: Active Ingredient: Tilmicosin Pharmacodynamics: Tilmicosin is one type of semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotics from tylosin, which has a strong efficiency against bacteria and infection of the respiratory of stocks and poultry and Mycoplasma. Tilmicosin is sensitive to various Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus (including MRSA), Streptococcus spp, Bacillus anthracis, Erysipeloidrix insidiosia, Listeria monocytogenes, Clostridium, Clostridium chauvoei. It is also sensitive to many Gram-negative bacteria including Haemophilus, Neisseria meningitides, Pasteurella. In treating Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella, and Mycoplasma is better than tylosine. Pasteurella hemolytica is also OK. Pharmacokinetics: oral dosage reacts and penetrates quickly with over 2L/kg. The concentration in lung is high and its half-life is one to two days making the effective time longer. Drug Interactions: 1. administration with epinephrine will increase the death rate of porcine. 2. not suggested to administrate with other macrolides and lincosamides due to having the same treatment 3. administrate with β-lactam antibiotics will cause antagonism to the drug. Indications: Macrolide Antibiotics. Use in treating porcine Actinobaclillus pleuropneumonia, Pasteurella and Mycoplasma infections. Administration and Dosage: mix with feed, 1~2kg/ton, continuing for 15 days Contraindications: 1. the toxicity is mainly on the circulatory system which may cause tachycardia and decreased contractility 2. may come upon nausea, throwing up, diarrhea, and pains in intestine. Precaution: Tilmicosin can provoke allergies and irritation to eyes. Direct contact should be avoided. Withdrawal Time: Swine: 14 days Storage: protect it from light, store in a tightly sealed container. |
